Cows are able to talk to each other and express the emotions they feel: a study reveals it – You know: a nice chat with a friend, family member or acquaintance with whom we get along particularly well, it’s always nice. It helps us to share our experiences, perhaps our anxieties, our doubts or our joys. In short: socializing helps to live better.
And it is very wrong to think that we humans are the only beings capable of doing it, that is, capable of sharing the feelings we have with our fellow men. According to what emerged from a study conducted by the University of Sydney, in fact, even cows are able to do something similar, with an expressiveness that is truly incredible.
We all change our tone of voice based on our emotions, but would you ever have thought that cows do it too? That’s right, and it was confirmed Alexandra Green, one of the main authors of the research in question.
By analyzing the characteristic lines of over 300 cows, researchers found that these animals use them for maintain contact with the herd, as well as to express distress, excitement or other moods. Just like we do with our fellow humans.
Each cow, then, always according to what was established by the study, it has its individual and unique bellow, a specific verse and timbre that it will keep for life to communicate. The cows are really “tuned together”: the research has monitored in detail their ways of exchanging information, discovering unequivocal connections between the verses they emit and their emotions.
The hope of the researchers is that such a study, beyond the particularity of what has been discovered, can help farmers to better understand their animals, consequently promoting the improvement of quality and well-being. Not only from the physical point of view, but also and above all from the psychic one.
