Sea urchin

Crown of thorns

Surviving in such an area is not easy. However, nature provided the battleship with everything necessary for a comfortable existence. The back and head of the armadillo are covered with a thick shell, consisting of strong rigid plates. Due to this, the animal is well protected from sharp stones and earthen blockages. An armadillo digs tunnels all day. He needs a shell in order to calmly feel underground.

Spiked spider

A spiked spider is an inhabitant of the rainforest. It can be found exclusively in warm countries such as Mexico, Peru, Cuba, Jamaica. The color of these unusual creatures depends directly on the habitat.

A spiked spider can be bright red, lemon yellow and even green. The spikes are also colorful. Therefore, the appearance of the animal as it warns the enemies of danger. But in fact, a spiked spider is not capable of harming anyone. It poses a threat only to small insects that are part of its diet.

Moloch is an Australian lizard that is often called the “prickly devil.” The body of this strange creature is completely covered with curved spikes. In the event of a predator attack, the moloch tilts its head as low as possible to divert its attention. The fact is that in the cervical region of the animal there is a small spiny outgrowth. When the lizard leans forward, it forms a kind of “false head”, and this greatly distracts the attention of the enemy. In addition, spikes directed towards the enemy can scare him away. While the enemy decides whether to attack such a formidable opponent or not, the hammer manages to quickly escape and hide.


Echidna can only be found in Australia. Needles are located only on the sides and back of this amazing animal. But the abdomen and paws of the echidna are covered with brown stiff hair. Needles protect this creature from attacks by predators. After all, echidna lives in an open area, where it is very difficult to find refuge and safely hide from enemies.
